Are you in a habit of keeping your desktop so clustered that at the time of need you couldn’t find the right thing at the right moment? It can happen with anybody. If you are downloading many things from the Internet or if you are installing so many softwares everyday, in a long run your desktop will look like a graveyard - a common place for many (dead) files that are seldom used. Desktop is meant to keep shortcuts of all the files that you frequently use but people use their desktop like a dustbin, when you don’t know where to keep files, just ram them into desktop.
